A cursed mask and a war in the City of Coin
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate is an adventure pack for Neverwinter Nights 2, developed by Ossian Studios and published by Atari Interactive for Microsoft Windows. Like the rest of the series it uses the d20 / Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition ruleset, and offers roughly fifteen hours of play set in the Forgotten Realms.
The story unfolds in Westgate, the “City of Coin,” a port on the Dragon Coast. The player comes into possession of a cursed mask tied to the Night Masks — the thieves’ guild that haunts the city — and is drawn into a war between rival factions while searching for a way to break the curse.
Though development was finished in September 2007, the expansion was held back until April 2009 amid digital-rights-management problems and coordination difficulties between the companies involved, and it shipped exclusively as a digital download.
